A Shoddy Christmas Carol
All the Dickens, bar the humbug!
It’s Christmas Eve, the audience is seated, and the curtain’s about to rise - but there’s just one problem: the cast of A Christmas Carol hasn’t turned up. With only one actor, a panicking stage manager, and a deluded director left to save the show, the trio must attempt the impossible - staging Dickens’ festive classic with a collapsing set, missing props, and wildly conflicting ideas of how the story goes.
Cue quick changes, questionable accents, and chaotic carolling in this unhinged retelling of A Christmas Carol.
Reviews
★★★★★
“A light-hearted, good-feel Christmas performance that anyone who enjoys British slapstick classic comedy should go see.”
★★★★★
“laugh out loud tears in the eyes funny, it remains true to the story, the acting is so bad it’s purely brilliant. Think how good Les Dawson had to be on his piano to play that badly – well, that’s the Shoddy Company, slick and professional.”
“A Shoddy Christmas Carol is a triumphant, hilarious disaster. It’s a night of laughter, a perfect way to lighten the mood, and the ideal tonic to get you perfectly settled and in the mood for Christmas.”
“It is a joy to report that the extremely talented trio from the Shoddy Theatre company pull off something of a masterstroke with their offering of A Shoddy Christmas Carol,”
